Years 1 & 2 topic this term is Castles. To bring their learning about castles to life they enjoyed a trip to Rockingham Castle. The children received a tour of the castle and explored the gardens. They had the opportunity to go up to the tower and look over all 4 counties. It was a day full of learning and excitement.
“When we arrived, we first visited the castle church and drew some pictures of the inside. After that, we visited the gatehouse and the dungeon! We went on a tour of the castle, we got to see the great hall where all the kings and queens ate and they let us try on some old helmets. We then went to the really cool tower where we could see the beautiful view of the castle. After lunch we explored the grounds and gardens and went in the maze.” Nya and Max
