On Friday, Key Stage 1 had their WOW Day to start our new topic about Castles. We started the day with a visit from some members of the Harrington Companye (Miss Warren and Mr and Mrs Salter).
They are history re-enactors, and they told the children all about medieval clothes and the weapons that people living in a castle would have used. We then spent the rest of the morning making hobby horses and shields ready for our medieval tournament. We had an archery competition, had a go at jousting with our hobby horses and then we had to slay the dragon by throwing spears at it!
